- If I don't stop making cookies and brownies I am going to weigh 400 lbs. Can I help it if my awesome baking abilities bring such joy to me and my family? No.
- Audrey's Bake and Buy is helping me well on my way to 400 lbs. Seriously, her baking business is good for her, trouble for me! Those no bake cookies are mighty tasty and I am awfully weak.
- I really need to get over my complete hatred of running in this heat. It's hot. Get over it. Not running is not helping me get ready for the Vegas Ragnar. It is also not helping me to not weigh 400 lbs.
- I do not understand why Grant (and all my other children at this age) feel the need to rise and shine at 5:30 in the AM. And I really, really don't understand why he is still adorable to me at such an hour. Let us not forget that I am a morning person, I just like to wake up on my own terms....even if my terms are only 15 minutes after his. ;o)
- I do not have TV recording abilities, SYTYCD starts at 7:00--mother of five not off duty by this point in time. Okay, so there is the possibility that I complete all my mom jobs during commercials. "Hurry Grant, tell everyone good night. Let's read your story, (I then skip 4 out of every 5 pages) all right, let's say your prayers, quick quick, jump in bed, night night, I love you!" All this happens in the span of about 90 seconds. There's also a chance that Elsie reads to me during commercials. That goes something like this, "All right Elsie, let's read (I mute during commercial. I am good like that). Good job, sound that one out, does the picture give you a clue? Your doing great, keep going...okay---WAIT---sshhh, ssshhh, ssshhh my show is back on." My Wednesday night mothering skills are Top Notch! Good thing for me it doesn't start until 8:00 on Thursdays.
- We are on the home stretch summer wise. How did summer come and (almost) go all ready? Less than two weeks until my little minions go back. Honestly, amazing! And, I will admit my complete and total freak outs of "GET THESE CHILDREN OUT OF HERE! I WANT MY SPACE BACK!" have been kept to a minimum. I'll go ahead and pat myself on the back now.
Well, we can't.
You will just have to get over it.
*You're all good with the fact that I am slightly crazy, right? I mean, that's part of my charm, isn't it?*

I laugh OUT LOUD (scream the "out loud" part when you read this comment) every time I read your blog!! TOO FUNNY!! Thanks for the laughs!
I like the random crap that makes up my sister. I really really like the fact that you are officially obsessed with SYTYCD! I can't even begin to tell you how happy that makes me. One more victim down.Sweet.
lets be 400lbs together. because I am well on my way, my friend. sad but true, my will power is zilch and even in the outrageous summer heat, I am still firing up the oven and mass producing the treats every week. STOP ME!!!
and I love your parenting skills, quality time with children is so over-rated.
Oh the every day stuff that pakes up our lives. I was quite surprised you don't just lock them in their rooms and say good night kiddies. Thats what I do. I long for the day when I only have to put one to bed. Oh why did I have that laps of sanity and go and get pregnant again(just Kidding you know I love these little ones)?
You are too funny! I haven't seen or talked to you in over 15-years and yet I can hear your voice through your blog because it lets me remember your personality so well!
Mike must be a heck of a guy. Sorry I was able to get a cell signal at my scout camp and he wasn't (man I caught grief for that!). We were just 5 miles south of Nauvoo and hardly removed from civilization. My boys ended up getting so wet from all the rain I ended up with the tourists at the laundromat on main street in Nauvoo - hardly roughing it!
As for your comment on my blog about our living the "perfect life" let me just say that the real purpose for my blog is to try and to entice my family and friends to visit us in less-than-perfect Decatur. My wife recently commented that by overcoming moving here she now knows that she can do anything! Come and visit us - you'll see what I mean! Seriously, when I told a friend in San Antonio who actually grew up here that we were moving here he told us we were CRAZY!! After all - we don't live in the resort town of St. George! : >
5:30???? Seriously???? That's a real problem!
And who says you're slightly crazy? I mean, I've been thinking most of the same things. And I'm certainly not crazy, right? right???
I like crazy.
Slightly crazy is good.
Last month Ashton was waking up between 6-6:30AM every morning for a couple weeks straight. I am NOT a morning person so I was one unhappy mama. Don't kids know it is summer and they are supposed to sleep in :)?!?!
I like to do my mom duties during the SYTYCD commercials too. You are not alone.
Only ten more days until school starts. Woohoo!
Mary Ann--you know I share your love of the school year, right?(because of the academics and learning and all that stuff and blah blah blah...). So here's an actual story problem from Asher's "slightly used" summer math book:
After losing 254 lbs., Jumbo weighed 4643 lbs. How much did he weigh before losing weight?
Enjoy....now go eat another cookie!
