What's for Dinner.

It's dinner time once again in the farmgirl household.
What's for dinner?
Well, that would be leftovers.
Again.
Me fears me family is going to unite and protest.
I'm in a super big rut.
Super Big.
The hubster got a panini press for Christmas and while we do love it dearly,
possibly after 25 days someone would like something different.
Maybe?
Ya think?
So, give it to me Peeps...
What's for dinner???
Ideas.
I need them.
Go!!

p.s.
unfortunately, even I can't count dessert
for dinner.
Well, night every night anyway.
because, if i could...
then i would be set,
because we have had a
wide variety of those.
;o)

Ooooh! I can't wait to come back & check out the comments on this post! I am in MAJOR dinner time rut-ville over here.

I will give 1 idea - we are big fans of breakfast for dinner at my house. Omelettes, eggs & toast, pancakes, french toast, waffles, we like 'em all. We may or may not have had breakfast for dinner 3 times this week.

I know you're just going to think I'm amazing when you hear this (ha, really I'm kidding!) but for about 10 years now, I've been doing monthly menus. It literally SAVES me every evening. And it eliminates the whiney "What's for dinner?" question every night because I just refer them to the menu.

I repeat most everything month to month, but add in seasonal favorites (soups in winter, BBQ in summer, etc). So if you ever want a copy, I'd be happy to share. But you are forbidden from judging me when you see what we eat!!

someone snagged my breakfast for dinner idea - my favorite was waffles with blended up peaches as syrup - Nate always added ice cream to his which gives you dinner and dessert in one:) I also love the blog thegirlwhoateeverything.blogspot.com
She has lots of cool recipes, and some awesome treat ones...

I work in the evenings, so if I ever can't think of anything....i just set out a package of hamburger and tell them they're on their own. Good mom, eh? Seriously, though, I find that if I will make dinner while I'm cleaning up breakfast in the morning, I don't mind so much. I can throw almost anything in a crockpot, and by dinner time, it's pretty good. I like getting it done at breakfast cleanup time because a. I only have to clean the kitchen up once, and b. I'm not experiencing my afternoon burnout quite yet!

But hey, I sure would like the recipe for the costa vida chicken someone mentioned???

I don't know if this is the accutal recipe but in my oppinion it is close enough.
1 lb. Shredded chicken
1 small bottle of Taco sauce (taco bell or La victoria. About a 7.5 oz or so)
1/2 can of coke (can use root beer but it taste sweeter)
1/2 c. brown sugar

Cook in crock pot for 1 1/2 hrs.
Serve on flour tortilla with fixings of choice.I use rice (with celantro, lime juice and garlic), black beans, cheese, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream.

I like to make a double batch so I can freeze half and have it another day.

I follow Anne and Sally's cooking blogs, My Kitchen Cafe and My Homebased Mom. I try to make a couple new recipes a month just to spice things up. My go to's if it is 5 o'clock and there is nothing for dinner are tacos, spaghetti, taco salad, pizza sandwiches or baked ziti. I usually have stuff on hand for those things.

I am thinking we need a panini maker around here. I could think of all kinds of yummy sandwiches to make!
